Reborn the Rose is a creative platform born from resilience and purpose.
Through storytelling, poetry, workshops and speaking, Kelly creates spaces for reflection, connection and the power of self-expression.
Kelly Amanda Lee is the founder of Reborn the Rose, a trauma-informed creative platform
centred on storytelling, poetry, workshops, and emotionally respectful spaces for reflection
and self-expression.
Through publications, speaking engagements, and creative workshops, Kelly’s work
encourages connection, voice, and meaningful human experiences through the written word.
Kelly Amanda Lee is the founder, poet, speaker, and creative voice behind Reborn the Rose.
Her love for writing began at the age of nine, when one of her early poems was published in
Writers of Townsville. From that moment, storytelling became more than creativity; it became
a way of understanding the world, processing emotion, and finding connection through words.
Over the years, her work has reached both national and international audiences, yet writing has
always remained deeply personal at its core.
Kelly is also a mother of twin sons, and much of her journey has been shaped through lived
experience. Her life has included domestic violence, complex trauma, and significant health
challenges, experiences that have profoundly influenced both her writing and the spaces
she now creates through Reborn the Rose.
After relocating from Townsville to Mackay, Kelly began rebuilding her life and channelling
her experiences into poetry. That body of work became her first published collection,
Reborn the Rose – The Journey Out of Domestic Violence, a creative reflection on adversity,
resilience, healing, and reclaiming voice through expression.
In recent years, Kelly has also navigated rare tumour diagnoses and major medical interventions,
experiences that continue to shape her understanding of resilience as something ongoing rather
than fixed. For her, resilience is not about perfection or constant strength. It is about courage,
patience, adaptation, and learning to move forward with compassion for yourself along the way.
Today, Kelly’s work integrates poetry, facilitation, storytelling, and trauma-informed principles.
She believes creative expression should never demand disclosure; it should offer choice.
It should honour silence just as much as voice.
Through Reborn the Rose, Kelly creates spaces where lived experience is respected, and dignity
is prioritised, and creativity can unfold at its own pace, whether through workshops, publications,
speaking engagements, or reflective experiences designed to encourage connection, self-expression,
and meaningful human understanding.
At Reborn the Rose, creative expression is approached with care, choice, and emotional respect.
Every workshop, publication, and reflective experience is grounded in the understanding that
no two journeys are the same, and that creativity should never require disclosure to hold value
or meaning.
Participation is always voluntary, and individuals are encouraged to engage at their own pace.
Silence is respected just as much as voice. Whether someone chooses to write, reflect quietly,
listen, or simply be present, every experience is designed to honour personal boundaries and
emotional safety.
Rather than focusing on pressure or performance, Reborn the Rose encourages gentle
exploration through storytelling, poetry, journaling, and reflection. The aim is not to “fix”
or diagnose, but to create supportive spaces where creativity can foster connection,
self-expression, and meaningful human experiences.
This trauma-informed approach shapes every aspect of the work, from workshops and
speaking engagements to publications and collaborative projects, ensuring that dignity,
choice, and compassion remain at the centre of every interaction.
Through poetry, workshops, speaking, and reflective publications, Reborn the Rose continues to grow
as a creative platform centred on connection, storytelling, and emotionally respectful spaces for expression.
The work of Reborn the Rose has included creative workshops, youth engagement initiatives, and community
advocacy, and collaborations designed to encourage reflection, voice, and meaningful human connection
through the written word.
From interactive poetry journals and youth-focused creative resources to trauma-informed workshop facilitation
and speaking engagements, each offering is created with the intention of making creativity feel accessible,
supportive, and grounded in choice.
Today, Reborn the Rose continues to evolve through publications, workshops, collaborations, and lived
experience advocacy, creating spaces where storytelling can foster understanding, resilience, and
connection at every stage of the journey.
“Creative expression should never demand disclosure. It should offer choice.”
At the heart of Reborn the Rose is a belief that storytelling, poetry, and creativity have the power to create connection,
reflection, and understanding in deeply human ways. Every workshop, publication, and creative experience is designed
to encourage expression without pressure, allowing individuals to engage in ways that feel safe, meaningful, and
authentic to them.
Through words, reflection, and emotionally respectful spaces, Reborn the Rose continues to evolve as a platform
grounded in compassion, dignity, and the belief that every voice deserves the opportunity to emerge at its own pace.
Reborn the Rose is honoured to collaborate with organisations, communities, and platforms that share a commitment to connection, creative expression, and meaningful impact.
