HE last Friday of the month of August is “Tracky Dack Day” which recognises members of the public participating as a fundraiser which serves

as a show of support for the children in hospital.

This fun day is hosted by an all-volunteer-run organisation, by raising awareness, the Tracky Dack day not only makes fundraising easier, but also brings real stories and messages behind just wearing your tracky pants. The idea of the day is to raise much-needed funds to help support sick children and their families who are admitted to hospital after undergoing lengthy stays in the hospital due to a range of hospital admissions and illness.

It is a way of also helping out through humour, laughter and fun for sick children at home.

The TLC Foundation can also send out colourful wristbands when you get involved.

Tracky Dack Day has started by TLC for Kids which has been supporting families and children who are facing the difficult journey of serious illness, injury and/or disability.

Fundraising can be as easy as wearing your favourite pair of track pants or fancy dacks, or even host a tracky-themed fun day at the workplace, in a business, at school, or even at home with family and friends.

It’s easy to donate to this cause, you can also visit www.tlc.org.au where the team are continuing to raise money for Tracky Dack Day, the ideas are endless while having fun along the way.

The TLC for Kids is a children’s hospital charity that provides immediate distractions and special themed support for patients and their loved ones amongst the regions.

The charity is looking for corporate champions to reach out and assist the kids in crisis who have a chronic or life-threatening illness.

For those in the community that have time to give, then volunteering and spreading awareness can help raise vital funds to children who need the support.

This is our community to think about kids who might need support or care.

The aim is to track a sick child getting support while having a great day, and help parents, hospital practitioners, health professionals and every child that is in care to provide hope, comfort and strength.

There are many people who can relate to this special charity which supports all ages from newborn through to teenage years.

The TLC for Kids also provide essential TLC Distraction Boxes for kids in hospital, as well as the TLC Bio-medical distraction kits.

These are available in over 470 distraction boxes and reach more than 400 hospitals around the country with a national reach.

The TLC for Kids charity believe that one child in every Australian family will be affected by hospitalisation, illness or disability at some stage in their childhood.

The charity has made it their mission and their duty to stand beside them and give them the support, kindness and strength.

So whether it’s just taking the time to wear your tracky dacks and smile in support, these small actions have a big impact.
